I’m not voting Republican because I remember.

This pretty much says it all:

That’s a pretty powerful ad from the folks at the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and it’s a shame it’s not all over the airwaves. There’s a lot of people out there who could do with a good reminding right about now.

  1. Gore Vidal often speaks of the “United States of Amnesia.”

I just got done watching “The Rally to Restore Sanity” and it was fun and I agree with the message. There should not be quite so much polarization and generalizing. But, at the same time, I cannot ignore what I see. No, not all Conservatives are bad, but if you ask me what the main problems facing this country are then my answer is really two things; the cross of debt and war and tax breaks for the rich and deregulation left to us by the Bush Administration and now the obstructionism of the Conservatives (Democrats and Republicans) in Congress. You do not solve these problems by electing more Conservatives.

  2. I belong to a wargames site, part of which is non-wargames stuff. A couple of years back the current affairs and religeon boards were moved off after a particularly acrimonious thread – this became the Blue Fez. After a few months BF had very few liberals on, basically because TMP is US dominated, and BF is where US wargamers discussed politics – recent example, the MoveOn demonstrator stamped on at the Ron Paul debate was 1) she was asking for it – she kept showiing up and spreading lies, and 2) hey, the stamper must have been a liberal plant.

Just posted a link to the YT video there….

  3. Here in the UK the coverage has mostly been about the Tea Party and how it’s dividing the Republicans, would like to see even a clip of “I Remember” played on our TV so people could see it’s not all one sided.
