Sorry Les…he was painful to watch. DH doesn’t like him either…not because he is an athiest (obviously since DH is a “born again” athiest), but because of how he writes/talks. I am going to try to watch it again though…I can get what he is saying but he was just…boring. 😛
He’s serious about the cell phones.
Hitchens has other videos on youtube where he talks about the Ten Commandments. Would recommend those too. Hardly boring.
Les, could you lose the gray print; it is almost impossible for an old bastard like me.
I’ll see if I can’t do something about it. If nothing else, I’ll track down a different theme.
A very interesting concept was my first reaction.
Here’s a longer speech about the 10 commandments:

It’s from June last year, but many might’ve missed it.
Ha! “Don’t swallow your moral code in tablet form”
I like it.
I always find Hitchens incredibly interesting to listen to, even when I disagree with him.
I think Hitchens pretty much hits it on the head here. He could have went into the whole “thou shall not kill” thing a bit more. For example, if you had a time machine, would it be more immoral to time travel back and assassinate Hitler before they killed 6 million Jews, or more immoral not to do it?
Anyhow, I think George Carlin’s attempt was much better – or at least funnier!
