Man secretly names daughter “Sarah McCain Palin.” Let’s see if his wife notices.

Some folks take their political activism a little too seriously:

Mark Ciptak of Elizabethton put that name on the documents for the girl’s birth certificate, ignoring the name Ava Grace, which he and his wife had picked earlier.

“I don’t think she believes me yet,” he told the Kingsport Times-News for a story to be published Tuesday. “It’s going to take some more convincing.”

Ciptak, a blood bank employee for the American Red Cross, said he named his third child after John McCain and Sarah Palin to “to get the word out” about the campaign.

“I took one for the cause,” he said. “I can’t give a lot of financial support for the (McCain/Palin) campaign. I do have a sign up in my yard, but I can do very little.”

Actually your daughter took one for the cause. Years later she’ll tell an amusing story about what a dumbass her father is so it’ll all even out in the end.

  1. You know, I find it hard to believe that the wife wouldn’t know only because the two times I have had children in two separate hospitals, the paperwork was always double checked with Mom since isn’t just one little form you have to put the name on and if the name doesn’t match they usually bring it to your attention.  Both times they went over every single piece of paper with me to make sure everything was correct before being discharged.

Of course, I live up North and maybe it is just a different practice up here…but I doubt it.

Either way, people like that are scary.  They aren’t thinking of the consequences of naming their kid that.  While it is a normal sounding name, some people are going to notice it and maybe even tease her for it…especially since a lot of people think Palin is as stupid and dumb as a rock.

    Idiot.

  2. So, what happens two months from now when McBush/Palin are just another pair of losers that didn’t make it into office?

Good thing my parents didn’t name me Geraldine Mondale Ferraro!

  3. Look, the guy is voting for a woman whose main charm is ‘she’s one of us’. She named her son ‘Track’ because she likes athletics. We know she isn’t the sharpest tool in the box, and she’s like her supporters…

Wouldn’t they have named you Daniel Bush Quail?
