I want dinosaurs with FRICKIN’ LASER BEAMS ATTACHED TO THEIR HEADS!

Word has it that Jurassic Park 4 is due to start filming now that script is done. The only original cast member to return (so far) is Laura Dern. I thought the first movie was excellent and the two sequels were decent enough to watch, but if this news item from Bloody Disgusting is true then I’ll probably give the latest installment pass:

Universal Pictures has officially begun casting for Jurassic Park IV, which will film in Kauai, Hawaii later this year! Laura Dern confirmed her return to the franchise as Dr. Ellie Sattler here as Sam Neill will NOT return. We’re told that the film is about the government who has trained dinosaurs to carry weapons and use them for battle purposes.

Apparently Spielberg is taking lessons from Dr. Evil on how to make movies.

  1. Sounds pathetic.  It’s like Hollywood isn’t even trying anymore.  The whole thing reminds me of the cartoon show The Critic.  Below is an unrelated episode:

  2. The island in Hawaii could maybe have a schedule conflict with the tv show LOST.  I think it is filmed there.

I haven’t seen J P II or III, so I guess I should catch up before I make any decisions for IV.

Now I’m trying to remember the name of the movie starring George C. Scott with trained dolphins.  I saw it the last summer I lived in the Valley, and my broken heart hasn’t been the same since.

  3. Sweet and Sour Jesus on a soda cracker. So we finally converted our fleet of hundreds of thousands of vehicles to all run on jet fuel to simplify the supply chain, and now I have to start requisitioning 50 cows/day/Tyranno-tank? And what the hell am I supposed to do with all that manure piling up in the Pterodactyl hangar?
