PZ Myers on “The Wall.”

PZ Myers over at Pharyngula has a brief Sunday Morning story to tell. A sort of parable if you will:

Once upon a time, some people on a road were stopped by a wall.

We didn’t mind. It was a good place to stop for a while, and as more people coming down the road stopped at the wall, a community grew at its foot. Most people enjoyed gathering together, so the wall seemed like a fortuitous event, a good reason to rest and celebrate and work together for a while.

Good stuff so go read the whole thing.

Why is one posted by Les on 15 April and the other on 16 April?
Has it something to do with my local time?
    It’s about 4.48 pm, 17 April, here.

Anyway, as a few commenters over on PZ’s site suggest, the story should be published as a children’s story.
One lady commenter said she’s hunted through many a bookshop to get Atheist specific stories for her children.

Now there’s an obvious niche that needs filling.

Oh, yeah – and I liked the story – it tickled my satiric funny spot.

  2. Don’t know what to tell you, LJ, the date and time are the same on both pages when I look at them.

  3. It’s a great parable, and a good example of why I continue checking out PZ Myers from time to time, despite his often counterproductive caustic attitude toward the goddeluded.

  4. I’m divided about Scienceblogs. I like them – but I can’t be bothered to keep up with it. My time is better spent on school, games and girlfriend.

Currently, SEB is my only regular read.
