Hell hath no fury like a Pastor’s wife scorned:
Police say a church service had just begun when Estes pulled a gun on her husband, preacher Larry Estes, about 7 p.m. According to congregation members, she was upset over messages Larry Estes allegedly exchanged with a youth group member and she demanded he admit infidelity.
So much for turning the other cheek.
I know what you meant as I sometimes say it myself but, Trivia #1 ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’ is incorrect.
While many attribute the quote to William Shakespeare, it actually comes from a play called the “The Mourning Bride” (1697) by William Congreve. The complete quote is “Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned / Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned.”
The long version sounds so much better, doesn’t it?
But I can only ever remember our one.
Up the creek without a paddle, eh.
