Had some downtime last night.

Not sure what happened or when, but we’re (obviously) back up now. Hopefully just a minor hiccup.

  1. For the sake of completeness, there was some belated fallout from that crash – a couple of gigs of disk space went missing, which the database server didn’t like at all, which made the webserver unhappy, and so on. At least, that’s my working theory of what happened. The disk space is still AWOL, but after the host increased the space in accordance to Les’s plan upgrade, there’s more than enough to go around. Still, it’s rather troublesome to run on a wonky filesystem.

As a side note, it seems like the host also increased the CPU share SEB gets and as a result, the performance figures displayed by the backend have vastly improved. If this translates into a noticeable speedup is another question, but the VPS is a lot happier now than it used to be.
