Pentagon to Host 9/11 Propoganda March

Oh for the love of The Flying Spaghetti Monster…

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/wn_report/story/335938p-286948c.html

WASHINGTON – The Pentagon will hold a massive march and country music concert to mark the fourth anniversary of 9/11, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said in an unusual announcement tucked into an Iraq war briefing yesterday.

“This year the Department of Defense will initiate an America Supports You Freedom Walk,” Rumsfeld said, adding that the march would remind people of “the sacrifices of this generation and of each previous generation.”

The march will start at the Pentagon, where nearly 200 people died on 9/11, and end at the National Mall with a show by country star Clint Black.

Word of the event startled some observers. “I’ve never heard of such a thing,” said John Pike, who has been a defense analyst in Washington for 25 years and runs GlobalSecurity.org.

The news also reignited debate and anger over linking Sept. 11 with the war in Iraq.

“That piece of it is disturbing since we all know now there was no connection,” said Paul Rieckhoff, an Iraq veteran who heads Operation Truth, an anti-administration military booster.

Rieckhoff suggested the event was an ill-conceived publicity stunt. “I think it’s clear that their public opinion polls are in the toilet,” he said.

Rumsfeld’s walk had some relatives of 9/11 victims fuming.

“How about telling Mr. Rumsfeld to leave the memories of Sept. 11 victims to the families?” said Monica Gabrielle, who lost her husband in the attacks.

Administration supporters insisted Rumsfeld was right to link Iraq and 9/11, and hold the rally. (Ed: well, duh!)

“We are at war,” said Rep. Pete King (R-L.I.). “It’s essential that we support our troops.” (Ed: ‘cuz you’re with us or against us!)

Emphasis mine. I think people will realise this war was a sham and supporting the troops is wrong when the 64-bit UNIX Epoch expires (292 billion years, if you’re not a geek). This current Iraq War is a guerilla war, insurgents against US troops, terrorists against terrorists.

  1. 9-11 is starting to look more and more like Operation Northwoods.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods

I think we’ll be seeing plenty of false flag operations in the near future as well. I hope enough people with large enough gorilla nuts fight to get the 9-11 investigation reopened. (Opened for real for the first time is more like it)

  2. Regardless of how I feel about Iraq, 9/11, or whatever, this is just goofy.

The Defense Department is not the Ministry of Making People Feel Good.  It has no business in the “public rally / concert / march” realm.

  3. There’s more official info on it here.

I will backtrack my thought on its goofiness to one small degree—as the DoD was one of the targets on 9/11, and the march is in fact starting at the corner of the Pentagon where the airliner crashed, there is a certain fittingness to the DoD being involved in *some* sort of effort.

On the other hand, an organization that holds meetings to show the public how people supports it … um … that *is* goofy.

Terrorists against terrorists, eh? Try this on for size, you may not support the war but that’s no reason to not support the soldier who fights it. I don’t support this war nor have I ever, but I don’t speak ill of the soldiers fighting it because I’ve two brothers who are combat veterans and I myself am a veteran of this conflict. My brother Justin was stationed in Fallujah with the USMC during last november’s assault on the city and my younger brother Zachary was recently awarded the purple heart for injuries he sustained in Tikrit while on patrol as a member of his Force Recon Unit. As for myself, I have been deployed to Iraq in support of convey escorts operations with other Master At Arms serving in the USN. Granted, I might have overreacted a bit and taken your last comment as an insult, but don’t believe that everyone serving in country blindly supports our idiot of a president. The men and women serving in the armed forces don’t fight for our president or even for our country, we fight for the men and women beside us in the sand. The men and women who lose limbs and more only to return to the U.S. to be labeled “murderer”.

  6. I would have expected this from “east neighbour”, China, North Korea and those.
Looks like US government is really obsessed to trying/using all means of dictatorships.

  7. Hey Boss,
I tried to email you through Jenkins Online, in regards to Jesus Man. However, I recently learned that that email did not go through. What is you current email address?

  8. TC – theboss3 at gmail dot com

Neo, I feel very sorry that you have brothers putting their lives on the line, but I still feel they shouldn’t be there in the first place.

  9. Neodromos, I’d like to ask you a question – when DOES a soldier of a democratic country refuse orders to deploy in a war?

I’m not asking about illegal orders, about refusing to shoot innocents or participating in torture. I hope and think most US soldiers would outright refuse such actions.

But basially you seem to be saying that as long as the US is a democratic nation in your eyes, you would fight much any war for it?

Lets say your president orders you to invade Iceland tomorrow (just to keep it technically feasible that the operation could go at such a short notice, we will pick a small and helpless, but also totally innocent country). Unlike Iraq, there’s not even any case given to you WHY its supposedly a danger to the US. The prez simply orders you to go and secure Iceland because its extremely important for US interests. What would you do?

If the last paragraph made you scoff, please don’t. I’m trying to frame a serious question, even if I may not succeed well.

  10. Neodromos, I’d like to ask you a question – when DOES a soldier of a democratic country refuse orders to deploy in a war?

While agree with the statements you make following this question (or at least the implications behind them), I would like to point out that it is not so cut and dried.

I do not know the specifics, but I do know that one cannot simply refuse orders in the military without severe repercussions.

I am going to see if I can get either of my fathers to give me specifics on this. One retired as an E9 in the navy (the highest an enlisted person can reach in non-war times) and the other was a grunt in the marines during vietnam.

Turning ones anger and/or frustration on the people taking orders really does not help. When my father who was in the marines came back, he came back to be greeted by a mass of angry, cursing, spitting people that he had thought he was out protecting. Needless to say, it was not a pretty sight.

Do you think that those who ship out to fight for our country have access to information while they are gone (sometimes for years at a time)? Do you think mail to them is not reviewed and discarded when see fit?

While I agree that there needs to be a better way to put a stop to such madness than shaming our ‘fearless leaders’ until they decide to end a war, I cannot agree with blaming it upon those of us that believe they are fighting for what is right.

The military works because it brings people in young, trains them to follow orders, and limits outside influence as needed to keep people following orders.

Even those higher up who give the orders face serious consequences for not doing as they are told…and those in the military have a different method of justice than those who are not.

Anywise, I will see if I can get either of my fathers to elaborate a bit on the inner mechanisms in place to keep people fighting in a cohesive manner. They may not want to do so as one was fairly high up and the other hates to talk about nam.

  11. I do not know the specifics, but I do know that one cannot simply refuse orders in the military without severe repercussions.

During my time in the German Bundeswehr, we received instruction that it was preferable to disobey an order that we suspected to be illegal and face the possible consequences than to obey what later turns out to be an illegal one.

  12. During my time in the German Bundeswehr, we received instruction that it was preferable to disobey an order that we suspected to be illegal and face the possible consequences than to obey what later turns out to be an illegal one.

While I agree and some things would be things that I would tell them to shove off over, if one goes in believing that what they are fighting for is right and receives no information denoting otherwise, can you blame them?

I cannot. Even if there are hints and whatnot that things may not be right, if the consequences are harsh enough, can one be expected to go off of random input received that cannot be confirmed?

All I am noting is that I cannot place blame on the people out fighting as I seriously doubt that they receive enough information to know that perhaps they should just walk. Those dictating this war (which I believe has the real goal of taking control of the last major oil supplies so that our economy and way of life can continue) are the ones responsible for it. Placing blame elsewhere (the troops doing their job to the best of their knowledge) is simply wrong.

An order to go slaughter a bunch of children or women (something to be questioned) is much different than an order to keep fighting those one was sent to fight in the first place.

Hell, it is very hard in this country (the usa) to even get real information about what is going on here. Our media is so borked that the vast majority of america still does not even have a hint of just how screwed our lifestyle is with the realization of usage of natural gas and oil compared to availablility and peaking.

Anyone that tries to point out just how screwed things are here is denounced as a liar or a fool. A lot of people around the world seem to think we are a bunch of bastards…when the fact is simply that we are kept horribly ignorant of what is going on.

I was fairly shocked at watching a documentary recently called “The end of suburbia.” At first glance one might write it off as silly or paranoid…but once one starts looking at the picture and digging for information it becomes apparent that they are neither liars nor fools…yet I have _never_ heard a peep about this in the media. In fact, I have seen the opposite noted.

    Via media and hearsay:
    Rolling blackouts? Downed powerlines.
    Rising gas prices? Greedy companies.
    Rising material prices? Greedy companies.

    Via the documentary:
Rolling blackouts? Our powergrids are at capacity and will not be expanded as we will be out of the resources that power them shortly.

Rising gas prices? Oil has peaked. This means that it is going to cost more and more to get the same amount of oil that we have been using from here on out.

Rising material prices? Machines refine the materials. Machines use oil. We are now competing with china for both.

Why bring this up? Well…if we hear nothing about these things from our normal media outlets, just how much about the war do our troops hear?

Anywise, just the random thoughts of a possible fool.

  13. I’m in the military and I have no problem with people questioning the events of 9-11 or what our military is currently doing in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I’ve also see “The End of Suburbia”. I have three copies. I also have 4 copies each of “Painful Questions”, the book and “Painful Deceptions.” the DVD about 9-11.
I’m completely convinced that 9-11 was a False Flag Operation conducted by our government in order to convince the American public we needed to go to war.
The men in Washington are scared SH!TLESS about Peak Oil and are willing to do anything to push back our impending economic catastrophe.
I suggest folks watch these DVDs and plan accordingly. I’m looking into long shelf life foods myself. I want to be able to eat once the Doo-Doo hits the rotating cooling mechanism.

  14. (sorry if I am straying a bit off topic here…)
While watching the end of suburbia (other than the hokey beginning and ending), I had the want to believe it to be tinfoil hat material…but the gut feeling that the message was true.

After a lot of digging on the net about peak oil and various other bits in the documentary, it seems very likely that we really are just screwed and do not know it yet. I would still love to be proved the fool, but the more I read, the grimmer things look.

Anyone else have any feedback on this?

  15. While agree with the statements you make following this question (or at least the implications behind them), I would like to point out that it is not so cut and dried.

Did I say it was? I am totally aware that refusing to deploy is desertaion (or close to it, in legal terms) and carries severe consequences.

Fact is though, that sometimes such decisions have to be taken, otherwise soldiers would only be slaves. As eldwed indicated, we have, for historical reasons, a somewhat stronger… how can you call it… official line on allowing disobedience here in Germany. The ideal (not that this is always followed – ideals never are), is that of the ‘citizen in uniform’ who has a higher loyality to law and humanity than just his military oath.

In truth, I would prefer something like in Starship Troopers. Any soldier can, at ANY time, refuse to fight. All the consequences he faces are permanent (no going back later on) departure from the armed forces (and to be sure, in the world of the novel, losing the franchise).

But I think such a rule would work marvelously. It would allow real objectors to follow their conscience, and simle human loyality to your fellow soldiers would ensure that actual use of this option would be less than sceptics would expect. Though, obviously, it would be a far cry from the kind of army Bush wants or needs.

  16. I’m completely convinced that 9-11 was a False Flag Operation conducted by our government in order to convince the American public we needed to go to war.

Mayo, you’re paranoid. And this is coming from someone who has once been diagnosed with it wink

There should be a simple law (like the Occam’s Razor) to apply to anything that might be a conspiracy. Does hiding the conspiracy – in addition to actually bringing about the incident –  need purposeful action on the part many, many people?

If yes, it ain’t a conspiracy. Its stupidity, madness, random chance, or just what it appears to be, in this case a terror attack. Such large numbers of people as would have to be involved in keeping something like that secret – it wouldn’t be possible to keep quiet. You will find that not one of the conspiracy theorists stating thet 9/11 was a sham actually claiemd that they themselves wee involved. Always hearesay only.

Which is not to say that such incidents cannot be milked for all that they’re worth by the powers that be (or want to be).

  17. Conspiracy people introduced all those spelling errors in my above post. Please disregard this CIA tactic intended to denounce me.

  18. We currently in this country have LESS of a “Democracy” than Iraq, our once proud democracy has been systematically dismantled brick by brick by this abhorrent administration of Treasonous War Criminals.

I have respect for our military/troops etc. which are only doing as they are commanded to do by the Smirking Chimp in chief.

I have ZERO respect for King George the W and his merry band of thieves however, he has without question LIED to congress, the American people, and rest of the World solely to go to war with Iraq for profit, and possibly religious insanity.
Not only should this miserable cretin be Impeached he should be tried for War Crimes along with most of his administration AND so should the leaders of the Corp. Propagandist Media that pretends to pass for news in this country along with every GD so called “journalist” that are “Knowingly” lying and or simply refusing to report about what this bunch of thugs are doing to this country.
The Government is currently run 100% by a “minority” of what I call “Theopublicans” that have taken over in a coup d’état that is largely the fault of such lunatics as Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Ralph Reed, James Dobson, to name a few.
They have taken “Dominion” over this country through lying, cheating , stealing, Voter fraud, gerrymandering, and brainwashing the simple minded into voting against their own best interest.
Every dirty trick in the book and even some not in the book they have pulled, they operate on the Joseph Goebbels “BIG LIE” theory, which Hitler noted in Mein Kampf as:

“consisted of telling a lie so “colossal” that no one would believe anyone “could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously”.
Also on page 51 of Goebbels OSS report he states:
”“never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.””

Hitl…errr I mean Dubya is following this playbook to the letter.

Here is a little info on King George the W that you wont hear in the Corp. Theopublican bias propaganda.
