I’d almost forgotten, but there’s still time to get my good wishes in before the day is out. Today is the 40th anniversary of the classic BBC sci-fi series: Doctor Who.
If I had more time I’d write more about it, but I’m late getting this up as it is. The show debuted 40 years ago at around 5:15PM and was completely ignored because of the JFK assassination. So few people bothered to tune in (for obvious reasons) that it almost killed the show. They give it another shot a week or so later and it had a better time of attracting viewers. Then when the second story involving the Daleks hit the airwaves it took off and went mucho-crazy with the viewers. Time to go dig out a couple of shows on video to celebrate.
