Sponsor me in this years Blogathon!

There’s just 2 days, 14 hours, 22 minutes, 58 seconds until Blogathon 2003 and that means there’s still time to sponsor me as I attempt to stay up for 24 hours straight this coming Saturday and blog about it the entire time. Sure, the posts further in will probably end up being even more incoherent than usual, but it’s for a good cause! Namely the Association for International Cancer Research. At last count my total pledges amounted to a whopping $80.25 which I’m hoping a few more people will help out to push it over the $100 mark. Yeah, that doesn’t sound like much, but that combined with all the other donations from all the other blogs adds up pretty quickly. So far the Blogathon has pledges totaling up to $52,425.30 so even the small amount my site generates helps to contribute to a larger sum.

If you enjoy reading Stupid Evil Bastard then pitch in and lend a hand and you’ll get a minimum of 48 entries (one every half hour) starting from 9AM on Saturday the 26th and running until 9AM on Sunday the 27th. Plus, Eric and The Minx have promised to pitch in with some entries of their own so that means potentially even MORE than 48 entries to browse through! Three bloggers for the price of one, how can you resist?!? As an added bonus if we break the $100 pledge mark I promise NOT to EVER publish ANY pictures of me in a thong! Don’t think I’d do it? Well I already paint my toenails (a very macho metal-flake blue color) so don’t think simple embarrassment would keep me from posing in a thong and inflicting the picture on the rest of you!

And while I’m harping at you people about this I’d like to mention again that I’m looking for folks to send me emails with any topic you’d like to hear me expound upon. A sort of “Burning Questions” type-thing which is about as close to a theme for this event as I’ve managed to come up with. No question is too personal. No question is too stupid (though the answers to some of them might be). All questions will be answered to the best of my ability and, hopefully, with something approximating humor. I haven’t received a single question yet and I know that someone out there just has to have SOMETHING they want to know that I might be able to use as at least one of 48 blog entries so COUGH IT UP ALREADY!

We now return you to our regularly irregular postings…

UPDATE: We’ve picked up three more sponsors and this morning we’re now at a total of $103.25! Woot! A big “thank you” to everyone who’s sponsored SEB for this year’s Blogathon! Not only are you helping a good cause (cancer research), but you’ve ensured that the world will never have to deal with the trauma of seeing me in a thong! It’s good for you and makes you feel good at the same time! If anyone else still wants to toss in a contribution toward our efforts don’t let the fact that we hit the goal I wanted to hit stop you from clicking that sponsor me button on the left and adding yourself to the list of sponsors, this just means I won’t harp on it as much now. Thanks again to everyone who’s signed up and I hope to have 48 entries worth reading come this Saturday.

  1. i got linked in through the blogathon page. i think i went searching to fill a void somewhere….a very good friend succumbed to neuroblastoma yesterday, it’s been a long day. one of those days where you’re not quite sure if this dragon will ever be beaten down, i guess i just wanted to say thank you.

thank you for still providing hope.

    peace and hugs

  2. Racheal, I stopped by your site and read the entry related to your comment here and I’m sorry for your loss. There’s nothing I can say that will ease the pain, but hopefully the few bucks I raise for cancer research will put them that much closer to finding a cure sooner rather than later.

You’ve brought the significance of this little gesture of mine into a sharper focus and I appreciate that very much indeed. Thanks for sharing it with us.
