Bruce Almighty

Now this should be interesting. Jim Carrey has a new movie coming out on Memorial Day called Bruce Almighty. In it he plays Bruce Nolan, a human interest television reporter who is unhappy with the way his life is going. At the end of the worst day of his life he rants and rages against God only to have God, in the form of Morgan Freeman, show up and grant him all of God’s powers for one week just to see if he really can do a better job at it.

This film will be the third time that Carrey and director Tom Shadyac have worked together and their last two collaborations (Ace Ventura and Liar Liar) are probably Carrey’s biggest hits to date. Considering how much I enjoyed those two films, I’ll be looking forward to this bit of blasphemy. You can check out the trailer for it by clicking here.

  1. I am not a huge Jim Carrey fan, but I’ll see anything with Morgan Freeman in it. Even the execrable Sum of All Fears. Harrison Ford is the only Jack Ryan, period. (Ben Affleck? Ugh…he’s not a hideous actor, but he isn’t Jack Ryan.)
