Famous last words.

Okay, so perhaps “famous” is overstating the issue a bit, but the final statement given by female serial killer Aileen Wuornos just prior to being put to death today in Florida really puts to rest the question of her sanity.

“I’d just like to say I’m sailing with the Rock and I’ll be back like Independence Day with Jesus, June 6, like the movie, big mothership and all. I’ll be back,’’ Wuornos said. The Rock is a Biblical reference to Jesus.

A stay of her execution was ordered pending a mental exam, but was lifted last week after three psychiatrists who interviewed her concluded that she understood she would die and why she was being executed. I don’t know why, but I find it all to be particularly amusing.

  1. I think I know what Aileen Wuornos was talking about. I think she is threatening reincarnation. A lot of killers threaten, “I’ll be back” as their last words. “The Rock” is an obvious reference to Jesus. I think she is referring to the movie, Independence Day, starring Will Smith: “I’ll be back like Independence Day with Jesus, June 6, like the movie, big mothership and all. I’ll be back,’’ Being born an American, I don’t understand how she could get July 4th and June 6th mixed up. Maybe she didn’t mix anything up. Maybe she is saying her next incarnation will be on June 6th (year?), and she is coming back with a VENGEANCE !
