Been so busy lately that I’ve not had much time to update my blog. Came home from work a bit early today as I wasn’t feeling terribly well after lunch. Not sure if it was a migraine or something I ate, but I came home and slept for a couple of hours and I’m feeling much better now.
I did want to take a moment to praise the folks at Holmes Products for going above and beyond the call of duty. We recently bought a couple of oscillating standing fans made by them from the local Super K and I put them together and they were working great. After a few days one of the fans suddenly developed a problem. The cap that screws on to the motor spindle to hold the fan blades on fell off. Upon closer examination I discovered that the plastic ridge in the cap that had the threads to allow it to screw onto the spindle had cracked and fallen apart. Not being sure if this was due to my having screwed it on too tight (which is possible) or if it was actually faulty to begin with, I was loath to just box it up and take it back to the store. The other fan was still working great and we weren’t unhappy with it. So I set out onto the net to see where I might be able to buy a replacement part, I mean how expensive could it be?
Turns out I couldn’t find anyplace that sold replacement parts for Holmes fans. I could find replacement parts for Holmes humidifiers and things like that, but not for the fans. So I wrote to the folks at Holmes through their webpage and they sent me back an email saying that if I told them the model number and color and my address, they’d just send me a new cap. Can’t argue with that and I’m even happier now that I bought the fans. So kudos to the folks at Holmes for taking that extra step to keep their customers happy!
