Dave over at Liloia.com had a good entry today about the pagan holiday Samhain, better known as Halloween to Mainstream AmericaTM.
As Halloween gets closer, I have been studying up on the origins of this wonderful holiday. Here are a few links for some great sites that explain the origins, fables and details of this Celtic holiday.
This is a really great one. This person wrote an excellent essay debunking many of the myths about this holiday and breaking down the real history of Halloween or Samhain.
I particularly like the second link listed above as it’s a site I’ve been by a few times on my own in the past. Check ‘em out if you want to learn a little more about the true nature of this spooky holiday.

Thanks for the mention. I have been recently reading Ray Bradbury’s “Halloween Tree” where he makes reference to Samhain, and I wanted to find out more about the holiday. Still trying to figure out the whole trackback thing. Hope I am getting it right.
