It’s official: Microsoft’s next iteration of Windows has been released to manufacturing.

Businesses will start getting it on November 30th and consumers who want to take the plunge can pick it up starting January 30th, 2007.

Thank you Wall Street Journal for telling us that Vista wouldn’t be released this year, and that computer prices would thus drop massively throughout the 4th quarter. Well done.

As always, you want to avoid upgrading and install clean, instead.

Or, if you’re like me, stick with XP until it goes end-of-life and then switch to Ubuntu Linux or something similar.
