Well, maybe it is because the religious right is sensing that Bush may not be able to steal 2004 or maybe the water supply has been poisoned (I’m switching to bottled!) but whatever it is has got the crazies out attacking the Constitution in force.
WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) announced today in Alabama that he has introduced ”The Constitution Restoration Act” (H.R. 3799), a bill requiring the federal courts to operate within the jurisdiction given to them by the United States Constitution as it pertains to the public acknowledgment of God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, and government.
I wonder, is this the Rights plan, to run us ragged defending the Constitution from insane bills for the next nine months? This would worry me a lot less if it wasn’t for the Republican majority in Congress and Bush in the White House. I would hate to live long enough to see my country destroyed from within by short sighted zealots.
Uh-oh, gotta run. Just heard another Republican firing up his shredder.

Well, a bill requiring the federal courts to operate within the jurisdiction given to them by the United States Constitution doesn’t actually sound all that bad ... but the bill certainly is. It’s constitutional, and all that (since the Constitution allows Congress to designate most areas where the courts can operate), but it’s a crappy-ass bill indeed.
