OK, let me see if I’ve got this gas price business straight:
The Republicans are advocating a $100 “fuel-cost rebate” to taxpayers to help offset the higher gas prices. In short, they’re promoting a government handout in exchange for opening up drilling in the Alaska wildlife refuge.
Meanwhile the Democrats are advocating suspending the 18.4-cent federal gasoline tax for two months. In short, they’re promoting a temporary tax cut with no real strings attached to it.
Republicans who want to do government handouts and Democrats wanting to do tax cuts? Surely this must be a sign of the apocalypse! Who replaced my brain with Folger’s Crystals?!?

Bush is looking into wind-powered cars, which is surprising, but then again, he has an intimate understanding of blow.
