I watched it this evening at work with my residents.  I’m 33 years old and still in love with Linus!

I’m worse than both of you - I own all the shows and watch them several times each season.  Nothing boosts you out of the ‘down in the dumps’ faster than watching Charlie Brown cartoons!!!

I’m in the same boat as you, Les.

I am a long time fan, but my kids are ambivalent, and my wife actively dislikes it. She even went so far as to ban “Snoopy Come Home” from our house after I bought it (it’s stashed in a bookcase in the basement..don’t tell )

Unrelated note: I LOVE the new tagline at the top of the page..very amusing.

I,too, was very excited to see that it was on again last night. My husband, however, looked at me as if I had lost my mind when I turned it on. So I didn’t get to watch it. And this from a man who gets up early on Saturday mornigns to watch “The Batman”. I am definitely buying some of those old shows on DVD for when I have kids, though.

I keep thinking about buying those shows on DVD, but I can’t help thinking that’s cheating. It’s bad enough that I already own White Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Life on DVD; the former of which I’ve already watched earlier in October when the air started getting chilly.

Granted it removes the commercials from the experience, but there’s still enough habit in me from my religious days that makes the idea of sharing the ritual of watching it at the same time as millions of other people somehow appealing. I remember as a kid how highly anticipated the annual airing of these shows were, at least among the crowd I grew up with. This show in particular was the official kick-off for getting hyper about the upcoming holidays for a lot of us. I wasn’t one to schedule much of anything in my life, but I made damned sure I was in front of the TV come eight o’clock the night the specials were on.

And I’ll be damned if my heart didn’t skip a beat every time I heard that music from the A CBS SPECIAL PRESENTATION clip they put before every showing. I was 6 years old when CBS first started using that clip. Of course that wasn’t on ABC last night, but that’s OK. I still enjoyed the show.

I share that sentiment, Les, but at least on the DVD you get to see Charlie Brown say, “I got a rock� all THREE times, just like when the show originally aired.
