The personal price of justice.

The story came across on CNN today that U.S. District Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow, who had presided over the trademark infringement suit involving Matthew Hale and the World Church of the Creator, came home yesterday to find her husband and her mother murdered.

Judge Lefkow had been targeted by Hale as a result of her ruling, and he is being sentenced on April 6th for having tried to arrange her murder.

I don’t think there is any doubt in anyone’s mind as to who has committed this atrocity and why.  I’m sure Judge Lefkow had no idea what psychopaths she was taking on when she heard a simple trademark infringement case over the ownership of the innocuous-sounding “World Church of the Creator.”

Please, if you can, make a donation to the Southern Poverty Law Center in her name today.

I thought that the issue was not so much a trademark infringement but that it was a white supremacist group.

The suit was over trademark infringement, but one of the big reasons they lost was because they were / are a white supremacist group.

These murders are just an unforgivable tragedy. Cold-blooded revenge killings like this are among the cases that have turned me into a death-penalty-supporting liberal, despite the shit I get for it.

Whatever the issue was, it’s tragic!

White might makes right to some. At least she’s under US marshals’ protection now. I hope this is the last year of Hale’s life. To think this asshole has followers and that some are promoting a racial holy war, it boggles the mind.

I’m with you Adam on being liberal and pro-CP.  At least in principle--I think the system sucks as it is.
But I think it’s our right to remove anyone that’s a threat to our lives.  For now I think the best bet is life in prison, though.
