And it’s not Microsoft. Which, when you consider the venom so many people have for Microsoft, is quite the accomplishment.

Heh...yeah, and try being married to one of the guys who developed Tarantella.  Like sleeping with Satan, that is.  ;^)

If people only knew… Linux has been questionable on this topic for years.  There are other UNIX variants out there that are arguably better than Linux, FreeBSD for example, that are open source and not licensed, nor can they be, anymore.  If Linux licensing is scary, well these companies can migrate to an open source UNIX variant (practically the same software).  Linux has just gained a notoriety and people are ignorant of the other realistic opportunities that are available to them.

Also, (if you read the article, it is evident) Microsoft is backing SCO’s claim and supporting their “rival” in this action.  Microsoft, of course, benefits from this.

Hmmm....I dunno, its hard to compete with Microsoft for the title of absolute evil. I’ve been programming since I was a freshman in highschool and I’ve had a taste of just about every platform out there and security wise a Microsoft box is usually an easy target. Not that there aren’t plenty of security protocols, but there are just far too many hacks to get into a Microsoft box. I suppose its just a natural consequence of having that much code, but still, if I have a choice I go with a flavor of linux.
