Starting a career over again…

That’s what it feels like these days as I got a call last night from a recruiter that saw my resume on Monster.com about a one year temporary desktop support job at one of the other Big Three auto makers. It’s an entry level position paying only $15 an hour and I’m way overqualified for it, but if they offer it to me I’ll take it anyway. It’ll put me back in my field and in contact with people who may provide me with leads to better opportunities and it’s double what I’m making at Meijers and will probably offer me some form of medical insurance which we could really use right now. I have a tooth that lost its filling awhile ago that I really need to get fixed.

It’s not much and it’s still a far cry from where I was, but it’s a second start and sometimes that’s the best you can hope for.

Ditto what GM said.

To die one’s self is a thing that must be easy, & light of consequence; but to lose a part of one’s self--well, we know how deep that pang goes, we who have suffered that disaster, received that wound which cannot heal.
