Southern Baptists want an ‘Exit Strategy’ from public schools.

Apparently upset that Public Schools have this bad habit of educating their kids, delegates to the Southern Baptist Convention are asking the group to come up with an exit strategy for yanking their kids out of school:

Delegates at last year’s annual meeting passed a resolution urging parents and churches to “to exercise their rights to investigate diligently the curricula, textbooks, and programs in our community schools.”

“We are commanded biblically to train our children in the nurture of the Lord,” said Roger Moran of Troy, Mo., who sits on the executive committee and offered the proposal with Texas author Bruce Shortt. “The public schools are no longer allowed ... to even acknowledge the God of the Bible.”

Moran, who owns a company that makes construction supplies, is a father of nine children, ages 18 months to 18 years. All have been home-schooled or attended Christian schools, he said.

“Everything that I believe as a Bible-believing Christian is not allowed to be taught in the public schools,” he said.

Because we all know that Belief trumps Fact any day of the week. Their slogan should be: We’re Southern Baptists and we’re working hard to keep our kids stupid by any means possible!

I think self imposed exile/quarantine for delusional psychotics and religiously insane is an outstanding idea.

All should grab a cross and sling it over their shoulder and be beaten with switches all the way to South Carolina where they can all live in peace with their fellow lunatics.
I love seeing those little Jesusfish on cars also, gives me a chance to give them a wider berth and a better idea on whom to watch out for.

Maybe a Scarlet F for Fundy might be a welcome touch too

I started collecting many comments from these threads that demonstrate the serious inconsistencies in atheistic thought that are so prevalent

Demonstrate.

600 years ago you would be in a tizzy because we rejected a geo-centric universe. The only statement to explain the inconsistencies between young earth and observed data that YEC’s come up with is ‘Physics changed at some point in the past’.  That passes for creation science.  Real scientists have proof and observations.  If the observations don’t match the expected outcome, then it is the expectation that is wrong, not the observations.  Show us where we are wrong. That means evidence to support your view point. AIG accepts man/dino fossils are fake/mistakes. They still assert they walked together. No evidence.  You want us to take you seriously, instead of treating like the dickless wonder you make your self appear?  Then take us seriously.  All you have done is rant that it’s so unfair. My 8 year old does that. Grow up.  As was said before- study the posts of L4T. We disagree with him, but we engage because he has an intelligence.

PS I can’t evolve.  Those decended from me may do, if they have to have certain physical characteristics in order to reproduce.

I think I became aware of it 1 year, 1 month and 1 minute before that and ... just to cut to the chase, this thing will go on till 2012. I think that’s when the Aztec calendar finishes and some say the end of our world will occur - play music from The Twilight Zone.
I’d like to stick around for that one if I can. LOL

It vexes me when they would constrain science by the authority of the Scriptures, and yet do not consider themselves bound to answer reason and experiment—Galileo

By the way, the German Constitutional Court ruled that parents cannot pull their children out of public schools to teach them in compliance to a literal interpretation of the Bible.

German article here, an English translation will follow in a couple of days.

Bad news for German fundies opposed to sex ed, evolution, and the absurd idea of other people having equally valid opinions.
