Ice Cube to star in “Welcome Back Kotter” movie
LOS ANGELES (AP)—"Welcome Back Kotter” is being made into a movie, with Ice Cube taking over for Gabe Kaplan in the starring role.
Cube tells “Variety” that he’s a big fan of the original show.
Kaplan shares the rights to the series and he’s been resisting a movie version for years. But he says he likes the way this project is shaping up.
Words fail me. Which is impressive for a blow hard like me.

As if the cinematic “Starsky and Hutch” remake wasn’t crappy enough, now we get this? Enough with the film remakes of shows that were mediocre to begin with!

I’m trying to picture Ice Cube doing a Groucho impression.
I’m failing. 
Maybe he’ll do Richard Pryor impressions.
