Elwed and I were chatting via IM this evening when he hits with with a link to Mental Drippings’ 10 worst album covers of all time.

*shudder*

The first one wasn’t all that bad, just goofy. It lulls you into a false sense of mild amusement.  From there, however, it’s a high-speed bullet train straight to Hell. Album cover #6 is particularly disturbing.

The horror! The horror!

Oh Yes! I got that as an email a few months back. It didn’t have the blog commentary though. My Favorite is #3 Julie’s Sixteenth Birthday. Positively Creepy!

My first thought when I saw #6 was “NAMBLA has a barbershop quartet???”

Then I saw the minister line.

This reminds me of the 365 Days Project that I linked to from here several months ago. It was full of often hilarious, often disturbing samples of Americana’s up tight past. I’ve yet to see another site with so much material available. Sadly it is now closed down and all MP3’s have been taken off line. Sadly, I hadn’t explored even half of it yet. I assumed it would always be there.

If anyone knows if it is archived or mirrored anywhere, please let me know. I wasn’t finished with it.
