This is not the right thread to consider whether or not the argument from design is “good”.  But VernR’s comment prompted me to finally get around to reading “Common Sense”, which is, if not a convincing presentation of the argument from design, a brilliant case for the Deist position.  I suspect most IDers, and most American
“patriots” (read Republicans), would not go along with Tom here:

Jeoffory- that’s assuming a causal and not merely symptomatic connection between being gay and being a good designer.

Maybe you’re right, though- seeing the world in a different way is always fertile, even if no new conceptions are involved.
