Seems Paolo couldn’t resist responding one last time to my last email where I pointed out to him that he was afraid to take the discussion public. Here’s his email with my reply:

    Paolo wrote:

Oh I am so scared… I tremble all over at the idea of going public...C´mon don´t be ridiculous.

Then let’s take it public. Prove me wrong. Go to the thread and reply.

As far as “pasting” and “plagio” I don´t see the problem in taking a line from a web site as long as those thoughts make sense to you. Don´t tell me that you came up with some new theory and wrote them to me to impress me with your insight.

Of course I didn’t come up with my own theory. I’m a Systems Administrator, not a Biologist. I didn’t just cut and paste text from another website, however, I took the time to actually know what I’m talking about and wrote it out for you. Again, if you’re just going to cut and paste someone else’s work then there’s absolutely no point in speaking to you when I can go to the source if I’m really interested. It’s one thing to cite outside sources, it’s another to substitute their work for your own effort.

Your 5 points (which by the way I read with interest), don´t stand a chance to prove the evolutionary theory, you are still on the theory field.

You’re once again demonstrating that you don’t have a clue what ‘science’ or a ‘theory’ actually is. You are scientifically illiterate. That’s not an insult, that’s a statement of fact and the evidence in support of it is the ridiculous claim you made above.

Here’s a big honkin’ clue for you: NOTHING IN SCIENCE IS PROVEN. NOTHING! The Theory of Evolution along with the Theory of Gravity and Germ Theory and so on will NEVER BE PROVEN. All of science is subject to revision as new data is discovered. Nothing is sacred. Nothing is beyond possibly being replaced if a new and better model is developed. NOTHING. The best science offers is that there is enough overwhelming evidence in support of a theory that it would be ridiculous to assume it to be false and that’s EXACTLY the case with the Theory of Evolution.

Those weren’t five “points” I listed, those were five FACTS. Facts that provide heavy support to the Theory of Evolution. You didn’t ask me to prove anything, you asked me to provide ONE fact. I gave you FIVE and then you did exactly as I expected you to do and tried to dismiss them out of hand.

Science can never reproduce the event of evolution ,because it cannot be observed (contrary to what you think)or repeated. Scientific method by definition requires observation and repetion of the object under scrutiny. Science cannot decide whether these events which are in principle unrepeatable and unique ever do occur.

You’re just reaffirming your ignorance. Evolution is observed all the time. Insects that develop resistances to pesticides or antibacterial resistant bacteria are both examples of Evolution in action and are observed in a laboratory every day. There’s a whole field of science (Evolutionary Biology) that would be impossible if the Theory of Evolution was false. A good number of the medications we have today are the result of our understanding of Evolution. Without it we’d have no way of understanding why some insects and bacteria seem to resist the compounds that we’ve used for decades to kill them. Without Evolution our answer to: Why didn’t that pesticide work is “I don’t know.”

You also make the mistake of assuming that “observation” means we have to see it happen right in front of our eyes and that’s just not true. Observation also consists of looking at what predictions a theory makes and then seeing if there’s any evidence that backs it up. If Evolution is true we would expect to find representative fossils that match the predictions it makes and there is an overwhelming amount of evidence that backs it up out there in thousands of research papers if you’re willing to take the time to read them.

Les it´s ok to disagree we are free individual and we have different opinion, I am not a scholar of any kind but, by way of reason I cannot be convinced of the veracity of evolution. It goes beyond any conceivable imagination and it stays there in the imagination realm.

It’s obvious you’re not a scholar. Here’s a suggestion: Try being one for a change. You don’t have to take my word for it as there are literally THOUSANDS of books out there written on the subject of Evolution many of which are written with the layman in mind. Just because you’re ignorant now doesn’t mean you have to stay that way if you seriously want to know the truth.

The fact that you are unable to comprehend how Evolution could be true says more about you than it does the theory. But hey, you’re certainly free to continue to hold your uninformed opinion if you really want to. Ignorance is a choice that many people find easier than being educated.

    You can´t prove it...that´s the issue .

I can’t prove the Theory of Gravity either so try jumping off a house while believing it doesn’t exist and see how well that works out for you.

The issue is not whether you believe in the unbelievable or not the issue is that you insist on trying to prove what can´t be proven and has never being proved just read what some of the leading biologist and evolutionist themselve have to say about it. One evolutionist said that some time he feels like going into a field with more intellectual honesty:The used car business.

Who are these “leading biologists and evolutionists” that you’re claiming to speak for here?  Cite your sources. I’ve read a LOT of leading biologists and evolutionists and I don’t know of ANY of them that have made such claims. You’re pushing bullshit here and I’m calling you on it.

All right if you want to keep this up It´s fine with me just drop your toilet type of language

Fuck you. You wrote to ME so if you don’t like the type of language I use then you’ve only got your own dumbfuck self to blame for it.

it´s kind of depressing, use arguments instead ,I might not agree with them ,but at least I might learn something, after all that´s your goal isn´t ?

You’re immune to arguments. I tested you with one and you failed. You didn’t even bother to try and rebut it with counter evidence, but just ignored it and moved on to the next cut and paste from your favorite Creationist website. I’m probably more familiar with the possible criticisms of the statements I made than you are. You glory in your own ignorance. There are people out there who wonder why the hell I bother wasting my time on people like yourself who seem to be so determined to cling to their idiocy as though it were a life preserver.

I then told him that I was going to post this to my blog and that any further comments from him should be directed here as I won’t be responding to his emails again. Any bets on whether he runs away from the challenge?

It’s easy to dismiss the rants of a guy like this but what totaly amazes me is how an occasional scientist (a real one) can also believe this shit. Although I have to admit that any “scientist” that does express doubt about evolution is in a different field than biology, anthropology, etc. (I think)

Well, moses, the poster boy of the ID movement, Dr. Michael Behe, is a biochemist.  Of course, Behe’s poster boy status is a bit tarnished among some by his sorry performance on the witness stand in Dover last year.  Yes, there are a few biologists who do believe in this shit, and even some (unlike Behe) who don’t earn money doing so.  However, they are greatly outnumbered by the number of scientists named Steve who don’t believe in it.

Intelligent Design is Creationism in a cheap tuxedo.
