Amazing.  “Blimp” is what I thought when I first started playing the video.  The flashing light on the bottom was a dead giveaway, but it’s amazing how someone can show me a fuzzy blotch and tell me the ONLY thing it can possibly be is an alien spacecraft.  I’m perfectly willing to believe that there are other life forms in our galaxy more advanced than us.  I’m perfectly willing to believe they are visiting this planet on a regular basis.  Have I seen any evidence whatsoever?  Nope.

But, why would they choose to come to such a primitive place.

There is a lovely parallel in ‘Roadside Picnic’ (also the inspiration for the forthcoming - hopefully - STALKER FPS game).

In that book, various zones riddled with alien artifacts (strange materials bending physical laws, machines having no understandable purpose, chemicals of unknown properties) suddenly appear on earth, seemingly randomly.

It is never revealed what they are exactly, or where they came from, but one character in the book likens them to the debris left by a careless tourist group - wrappers, broken toys, some motor fluid… - who had made a quick stop (a ‘Roadside Picnic’) on Earth, without even noticing the locals, like we would ignore squirrels…

Nice book. Readable even now that I have spoled part of it for you. And I’m very psyched about the game too.

Ahhh, I haven’t slept in a tent since ‘jungle training’ before I went to Vietnam nearly 40 years ago.
I still recall that our camp-site was on the side of mountain (it was really just a very tiny hill) and during the nite my mate grabbed me by the collar and dragged me back up the hill, into our two-man tent.

OH! I have read that book, my flawed memory was that it was written by Stanislaw Lem, but it was actually written by Arkady & Boris Strugatsky.
