MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann did a bit of editorializing on air about the government’s piss poor start on rescue operations after hurricane Katrina did her worst and boy is it fun to watch. A small taste:
[M]ost chillingly of all, this is the Law and Order and Terror government. It promised protection — or at least amelioration — against all threats: conventional, radiological, or biological. It has just proved that it cannot save its citizens from a biological weapon called standing water.
Personally, I think he nails it right on the head when he points out that this administration sold itself to the voters on the promise that it would keep you safe whereas the other guys might just let you die. If they can’t even get their shit together over a natural disaster I can’t imagine how badly things are going to go when the next terrorist attack rolls around.
