Justice Scalia and his Brave New World

In addition to Orwell we may now get Huxley. During an address at Harvard, Antony Scalia suggested that orgies might have a therapeutic effect.

Challenged about his views on sexual morality, Justice Scalia surprised his audience at Harvard University, telling them: “I even take the position that sexual orgies eliminate social tensions and ought to be encouraged.”

Small wonder he doesn’t allow his speeches to be recorded electronically. I wonder how the worthies in the party of family values and abstinence view this nugget? If they publish some rules of engagement, will Clarence Thomas contribute?

For more details of Scalia’s talk, remarks and predictably regressive judicial philosophy see this article in the The Harvard Crimson.

Does anyone recall a certain Surgeon General who advocated masturbation courses in college? (Dr. Joycelin Elders?) Maybe he was not joking. And, just maybe it is theraputic. wink

Certainly makes me want to go back to school! I wonder if the wife would agree?
