IS THERE LIFE AFTER DEATH

[Editor’s Note: I’m posting this on the basis of it being an excellent bad example of the the sort of post you might want to think twice about before submitting to SEB and also as a reminder of the importance in taking your medication every day when the nice men in the white lab coats give it to you. As an example of someone who is overly credulous it is beyond compare. I sincerely hope the author was trying to be satirical, but somehow I fear that this was written in all sincerity. A frightening thought indeed.]

I know there are people in this world who do not believe in the paranormal.  I personally always had a interest in it . I had a experience with this and it has totally changed my life.  Guess what it was for the good.  It has made me so much closer to god.  I have spirits with me all the time.  There in my home there everywhere I go.
Sometimes I see them, hear, feel there prescence, smells.  They are here.  I have over 50 pictures to prove it.  I was told I had some physcic abilities and that I just didn’t know how to use them.  This is some of them.  I just recently found out I could communicate with them through what is called channel writing.  I never thought anything like this would happen to me but it has.
I have been writing poems on the paranormal ever since this has happened and most of them have been published.  I have never
been able to write poetry before in my life.  I believe this has been for a reason.  There are more spirits in this world than there are people.  So there is life after death and we can communicate with them.    I just want to say GOD BLESS THEM ALL!  This has been going on now for about 2 years.

LMAO!

Awww, did she take her toys and run home? What a shame.

Oh man, I just spent the last ten minutes laughing my ass off! I’m growing particularly fond of reading any comments left by KPatrickGlover as they’re just killing me.

Why, thank you, Les. I’m glad I could liven your evening up.

This thread is a keeper so that anytime someone does a Google search for “Rose M. Wise? or “spirits8082@sbcglobal.net? it’ll be sure to come up as a shining example of your best work.

And that is a special form of justice. I love it.

I’m off to bed, now that the ruckus has died off. Good night everyone, and remember “God is an imaginary friend for grown ups.“

This is not a mental issue
This is a true happening

I had a friend with schizophrenia.  He stabbed his grandmother to death because he believed that she was part of a conspiracy to undermine the passage of time.  He thought it wasn’t a mental issue either.  He was and, according to his brother, still is convinced that he’s right and that she was trying to destroy the universe.

So I guess all of us who have had paranormal experiences are crazy.

Nope, I don’t think that at all.  I don’t even think that you’re crazy.  However, given that you have experiences that are similar to the hallucinations that people undergoing psychotic events have I suggested, for your own well being, that you consider seeking professional assessment of your psychiatric condition.  This is not an insult, it’s meant to be helpful medical advice.

You don’t know the difference

This might be the case but I might know the difference.  However, it would help if you would tell me what two things I’m conflating.

I don’t even know why you or getting so offensive.

I haven’t been particularly offensive after my first post, and I even appologized for that and explained why it was a little snarky.

I have a right to tell my story whether you believe it or not.

I believe that, however, I also believe that other people have a right to say what they want to.  If you don’t want people’s comments, then why did you submit an entry?  You can’t expect everyone to say nice things about you and agree with all your positions.  Especially not here.  This is a site that is frequented by quite skeptical people.  Most of us aren’t particularly credulous, we tend to question everything, even things that have more of a foundation in reason than claiming that spirits are evident in photographs that appear to the result of cigarette smoke or dust specks.  If you want to be taken more seriously perhaps you should employ more rigorous methodology in your research.  Also perhaps you should use less questionable evidence than some inconclusive photographs.

Damn! Why does a post like this always pop-up when I’m busy watching my cat run up and down the hall for no reason?

I have a hunch Rose may stop by and I’m curious as to why she has not seen a doctor.  Most people that I know of would be off to clinic if this type of thing began happening regardless of how strongly they felt about it.

You can bet your bottom dollar that Pat Robertson would be in to see a professional if a glowing Satan suddenly began hanging out around his house.

So, Rose, what’s your reasoning behind not having visited a doctor?  What do you have to fear?  If you go in and tell your story as you’ve told it to thousands of others and the doctors find nothing wrong, won’t that just add credibility to your writings?

I’m also curious what happened in your like two-years ago that brought on this bevy of spirits.

Oh, thank you for not voting.  I’m not sure you would have been allowed to under most state law, but thank you nonetheless.

Okay, I know I said I was off to bed and I am in a minute, but I couldn’t resist googling “Rose M. Wise” and guess what I found?

http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/mt/PressReleases/200302181420.htm

Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that during a federal court session in Great Falls, on February 13, 2003, before U.S. District Magistrate Judge Carolyn B. Ostby, ROSE M. WISE pled guilty to charges of making false statements to the United States government. A sentencing date will be set.

It appears to have something to do with social security fraud and involves a Rose Wise who would be in her upper mid 40’s. A coincidence? Probably. But amusing none the less.

Miss Rose, are you in Montana by any chance?

This seems like an appropriate place to post this.

When someone posts something I find stupid, and I feel moved to respond, I (usually unconsciously) assign the post a position along a sliding scale of stupidity, and factor in age (if known or deducible), arrogance, originality, and probably other stuff I’m not aware of, including my mood.

Then I decide whether to respond with a rational argument, to make fun of the post, to make fun of the person, or to empathize with him/her for obviously having problems coping.

Of course, we all do this, and we all have different standards, which is one of those things that makes life interesting.  Sometimes it’s hard to know (probably it’s an illformed problem with no answer, even theoretically) where the line is between humor and cruelty.  I suspect they often overlap, and that cruel humor cuts to the quick, which can injure and also awaken.

I often feel bad for hurting feelings, or at least putting people off, with my cynicism, but I wouldn’t want to give it up- it’s a useful tool, and more fun than shooting monkeys in a barrel.

When I see something stupid, I first make fun of the person and if they get really upset, I then become condenscendingly nice, which I find incenses them further.  Err, but I didn’t do that here, or did I?

No, but none of you are correct. Some are crazy, some delusional, some scam artists, some have brain trauma, some gullible, and some are just not very bright.

Which one are you?

No, college is not a requirement to be intelligent. But the most basic grammer is required to not be seen as a backwater boob in the world. REALLY bad grammer does speak to the intelligence level of the writer, and yours is not saying nice things about you.

My honest, gut feeling is that Rose is of a below-average intelligence, compounded by a lackluster life, and it was either going to be this or an alien abduction for her.

Sheesh, isn’t there any secular, non-loopy thing for these people to get all caught up in? We really should think about providing something.

Like those nicotine substitute band-aids, only better. And for Religions/Alien Abductions/Psychics.

brandi: No, but none of you are correct. Some are crazy, some delusional, some scam artists, some have brain trauma, some gullible, and some are just not very bright.

And some take drugs.  The closest thing I had to a paranormal experience was on propane (don’t try this yourself, it’s not worth it and possibly dangerous).  My brother and I both did it one day when we were young and wild, and had near-identical results:  we inhaled a lungful of the noxious gas and held our breath as long as we could (not easy- propane tastes just awful).  We let out our breath, and over the next minute or so had the gradually increasing feeling that we were disembodied.  We could move around, but had the strangest sense of controlling a robot.  I lifted my hand and looked at it and thought, “that’s not mine”.  This feeling ebbed over the next couple of minutes, and we were back to normal.

Later, reading Oliver Sack’s classic “The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat”, I realized that what we had experienced seemed similar to his description of a woman who had a spinal infection and had overnight lost her sense of proprioception, the sense we all have of where our limbs are at any given moment.  Disturbing.

To be charitable, many people believe in these things simply because they haven’t been taught to think skeptically, don’t understand the scientific method, and haven’t heard about the real explanations for these phenomena.  I wouldn’t have understood how half of the “paranormal phenomena” really occur if I hadn’t read James Randi.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! No, Rose, you don’t need a college degree to be intelligent, but I’m having a hard time imagining you got beyond some cracker grade school. My 6-year old nephew can frame a better argument and in two different languages.

I’ve not laughed this hard in weeks.

I research on the paranormal.  You people or afraid that maybe this is the truth.  You don’t really want to know the truth.  There’s plenty of it on the internet.  Read you might learn something.

Then a fella named Randi would LOVE to give you some money.
Just prove your wee little claims, and poof!

...Les…How exactly DOES someone become a guest poster like Rose? I always had the idea that there was some kind of ‘coherance’ requirement. You are a fair man, I’ll give you that!

Hello ALL
This is something for everyone
You all need a little spiritualism in your life

1 John Chapter 4 Verse 1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit
But test the spirits whether they or of God
because many false prophets have gone out into
this world.

If God did not have a purpose for mediumship
then it would not have been created, reading
Colossians 1:16

Here the is a gift from me to you all.
The Dark and Light Side Of The City

Is this a city of life
and a life of the unknown

People walking the streets
not making a sound

Are there spirits here no
where to be found

This ghostly white city
That stands so still
Are theses people even real

The angry dark clouds
hovering above
Is there any happiness
or any love

Maybe this is there life
and a life of the unknown
But who knows they must move on

So I must say your life never ends
Even after death
Your new life begins

Yes, Christianity is full of tautologies.  “I am what I am.“  Oh wait, maybe that was Edie Brickell? LOL  Don’t quite follow the logic that leads to the conclusion that there must be life after death.

Very predictable.  And odd. Trashy & cheap, just like her “poems.“  Love the new “poem.“  Reminds me of that Rod McKuen-type crap love-struck, impressionable teenage girls believe is the ultimate in deep thinking.

Good taste costs nothing and can be done on a shoestring.

Rose, if you can’t give it up, keep the poetry to yourself.  I know you say you’ve been “published,“ but I’ve looked at a few of those websites and they do not cater to the type of people that are capable of or interested in analytical, educated thinking.  The people that contribute to this site appear to be a bit smarter than your average backwoods boob and your poetry doesn’t speak well of you or your abilities.

That’s it! Couldn’t put my finger on it. I keep thinking Rose has to be 14 years old. But it appears she just never mentally grew beyond 14, which is a sad fact for many backwater-boob types, male or female. Add the righteous indignation of not knowing they are less intelligent than average, and it’s endlessly entertaining.

As for ‘published’...well, my words are on this website, so I’m published, too! Yippee, I’m a writer!

Adrienne, anyone who’s a registered member can submit an entry for consideration. When you’re logged in an extra link appears in the sidebar titled “Submit an Entry” and clicking it will take you to the entry form. Whether or not it sees the light of day is based on my admittedly heavily biased and totally subjective opinion, but in general I try to consider how well it fits in with the general aim of SEB or, barring that, how likely it is to generate a good discussion. In cases such as Rose’s submission it’s based on how funny I find it to be or how much of a good “bad” example it makes.

Rose, don’t quit the day job. I’ve seen better poetry from people who were just this side of a persistent vegetative state.
