Last weekend’s ComicCon in California was the usual orgy of not only all things comic book, but geek culture in general. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the tidbits on the upcoming fourth installment of Indiana Jones that’s due out next year and I wasn’t disappointed. Among other things they released the following teaser poster for the movie:

Kinda like seeing an old friend again, ain’t it? Anyway, the other big bit of news was in regards to the cast. Specifically that Karen Allen is reprising her role as Marion Ravenwood from the original film. Beyond that, though, not much was revealed about the plot of the film other than it’ll be set in the 1950s. Still it’s cool to have Karen back.

Sounds like good news to me.

There’s still time to change the road you’re on.

There’s other info out there.

Shia LaWhatever is playing their son and John Hurt is playing Marian’s Dad, Abner Ravenwood....

Actually, he’s referred to as Marian’s son, I’m just assuming that Indy is the Dad, I could be wrong.

Harrison Ford is playing Indie again. They filmed parts of it in New Haven last month - here is one article about it ... and here is another. Spielberg is directing and Cate Blanchette is in it as well. I’ll have to see it at least twice: once to see it and then again to look for friends in the crowd scenes (I didn’t find out about it in time, damn it!) John Hurt plays Karen Allen’s father. Sean Connery, alas, declined to unretire. We have to wait until Memorial Day next year to see it. The official site is http://www.indianajones.com though there’s not much there yet. I’m really looking forward to it.
