Ann Coulter is a bug!
Not like that comes as news to anyone familiar with her books or column which can all pretty much be summed up as ‘all liberals are traitors and all conservatives are God’s chosen children’. Now she is in the business of defending her parties chicken-hawks by attacking ACTUAL war heros, hoping like hell to make Bush’s Guard duty flap disappear. I know that lies spring eternal from her lips and when it is just more neo-con nonsense I tend to ignore her, like a child throwing an unending tantrum, but lies are one thing… this is slander:
“Cleland lost three limbs in an accident during a routine non-combat mission where he was about to drink beer with friends. He saw a grenade on the ground and picked it up. He could have done that at Fort Dix. In fact, Cleland could have dropped a grenade on his foot as a National Guardsman - or what Cleland sneeringly calls ‘weekend warriors.’ Luckily, for Cleland’s political career and current pomposity about Bush, he happened to do it while in Vietnam.”
But he didn’t “give his limbs for his country,” or leave them “on the battlefield.” There was no bravery involved in dropping a grenade on himself with no enemy troops in sight. That could have happened in the Texas National Guard - which Cleland denigrates while demanding his own sanctification.”
I imagine this is a fair assessment considering the years Ann herself put into military service especially during the Vietnam War, you know because of all of her own experience as a battle hardened she-devil. She no doubt has the story right considering her dedication to the truth but what do you make of the governments obvious error when presenting him with a Silver Star? Can you believe they actually said:
Captain Cleland distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous action on 4 April 1968 Ӆ during an enemy attack near Khe Sanh.
When the battalion command post came under a heavy enemy rocket and mortar attack, Captain Cleland, disregarding his own safety, exposed himself to the rocket barrage as he left his covered position to administer first aid to his wounded comrades. He then assisted in moving the injured personnel to covered positions.
ӓContinuing to expose himself, Captain Cleland organized his men into a work party to repair the battalion communications equipment, which had been damaged by enemy fire.
His gallant action is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service, and reflects great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army.Ӕ
Stupid military. Just how many other drunken clumsy buffoons got a medal for gallantry in action against an enemy? Maybe this is the real story, the one about how men and women who actually serve in the military and are injured while conscientiously performing their duty are given awards they do not deserve. Hell, Cleland only lost both legs and an arm. Bush is being embarrassed publicly for dodging light duty stateside, while getting VERY expensive fighter jet training on the taxpayers dime, AFTER his family connections pulled enough strings to allow him to get in the Guard ahead of other more qualified and deserving applicants! Bush is by far the more persecuted of the two, don’t you think?
We probably won’t find out the truth of Bush’s service because the only people who KNOW the truth aren’t talking but attacking a man who actually went to Vietnam in service to his country and left 40% of himself over there as less than a patriot deserving our thanks is execrable! I didn’t think that it would be possible for me to think less of Ann Coulter after she accused liberals of treason. I was wrong.

And, people actually buy her crap. I abhor that woman.
