On the off-chance I don’t get around to posting again today—which isn’t to say that I won’t, but that I might be too far into a food coma to type—I wanted to take a moment to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving! Here at the SEB Palace we woke to the first real snowfall of the season:

With that and the annual America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit on the TV it’s officially the holiday season around these parts. Expect an updated SEB template soon.

Happy Thanksgiving Les, to you, your family and friends. It’s good to pause and think of reasons to be thankful - for our privileged position in the universe. We don’t celebrate the day in the UK or Ireland but I’ve often thought we should adopt the tradition.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, too, Tom.

Among the things I am thankful for are:

I’m thankful I have SEB and SEB has me.
I’m thankful that SEB has the opportunity to blog.
I’m thankful that SEB’s Momma is doing very well after her surgery (yesterday).

I hope Turkey Day 2007 closes upon each reader of this comment while they rest comfortably in a safe, warm, peaceful place.

I’ll second Tom and Mrs. SEB.  Happy Thanksgiving from snowy Vienna. Best wishes and a speedy recovery to Momma.  No turkey this year, but salmon ravioli is also not bad…

To the memory of all the native tribes that have been slaughtered and to the land we stole from them! Happy Thanksgiving!

Beware the beast man, for he is the Devil’s pawn. Alone among God’s primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother’s land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home, and yours. Shun him, for he is the harbinger of death.

Very picturesque photo, that.  We only had a few lazy flakes drift down to check us out Thursday morning.

I hope that everyone had a chance to spend time with the relatives that they actually like.  And I’ll add my “Get well soon!” for MomSEB.

Btw, Tom:  I think that the UK should celebrate Thanksgiving more than we in the US do.  After all, it meant more than anything that a batch of Puritans had decided to stay on our shores and not plague your ancestors any further.  wink
