Given all the foaming at the mouth resident SEB Village Idiot “Don” has engaged in over tattoos and how he thinks he’s protecting the children from them it should go without saying that I about fell out of my chair laughing when I saw that Amazon.com is selling the GR8 TaT2 Maker:

Open up your very own pretend play tattoo parlor. This easy-to-use tattoo maker kit includes an electronic tattoo pen and funky stencils. Using soft, safe pulsating action, the tattoo pen creates realistic, washable designs with dramatic effects. Requires two AA batteries (not included).

That’s right folks! For a mere $14.99 you can get your own highly impressionable children their own temporary tattoo toy. Or better yet you can buy it for someone else’s highly impressionable young child. Say someone who’s name starts with a “D”?

If this doesn’t make Don’s head asplode then perhaps the one review from a parent who bought this for their own kid will push him over the edge:

I bought this for my 6 year old son’s birthday who LOVES tattoos! It’s great, gives the look and “feel” of a real tattoo. It comes with like 30 re-useable stecils (which are rather sturdy). The only downfall is that there are only 3 colors (brown, red and blue) and there are no replacement markers. I think if there were more colors, the tattoos would look better and there could be a bit more creativity.

Imagine that! Someone’s 6 year old kid just LOVES him some wicked tats and has been having a blast inking up their skin with this toy! Can you believe this, Don? Not only is some toy company making a toy for kids that lets them pretend to be a tattoo artist, but parents are buying it and actively encouraging their kids to mark themselves up with it. I bet you can’t wait to sue the shit out of both this parent and the toy maker, eh? Surely you’ve got an actionable tort or two in this someplace, right? After all you’re just trying to protect the children! I need someone to send me Don’s address so I can buy him one of these and send it to him. That’d be the best $15 I’d have spent all year.

So, Don, put up or shut up. I expect to hear about your filing for a lawsuit within days.

This wonderful product found via Boing Boing.

This couldn’t have come at a better time.  Chew on that one Don.

I wonder if I give like 4,000 of them to Toys for Tots if they’ll deliver them?  If I were still a kid I’d take one of those over a talking Jesus doll any day.

I want to see Don try to successfully sue Wal-Mart on the basis of his internet-surfing education level of the law.

Okay, I am officially laughing my ass off. Thank you, Les. LOL

Who would have thought that someone would get that worked up over the very idea of people artistically modifying their own bodies? Sometimes people amaze me.

I would have bought a GR8 TaT2 Maker for my kids if it had been available when they were of the appropriate age.

Toys I want to see:

Tiny Tots Branding Irons (for kids 6 to 9) - which is an assortment of rubber stamp “branding irons” and a “branding iron heater” that holds a stamp pad.  Refill stamp pads are available at any office supply store.

For older kids there would be the Senior Branding Iron Kit (for kids 9 and up) - which consists of a woodburning iron, assorted tips for the iron, a felt tip pen, an assortment of patterns, and a tube of Neosporin.  Refill pens and Neosporin can be purchased at any pharmacy.  This toy would probably just say “Made in Taiwan” and have no manufacturer name; they would be found in the toy sections of truck stops, gas stations, hardware stores, and convenience stores.

I’ve discovered that it all boils down to brain wiring: your brain is wired to worship magic or it isn’t, either it’s wired to utilize logic or it isn’t, either it’s analytical of myths or it isn’t.

Damn funny.  But I think we need an intelligent person like Consi to reply here to attract Don.  The opposing force of Consi’s intelligence seems to attract Don.
