Ahh, American Gods. What an amazing novel.

If you like American Gods, try reading Good Omens also written by Neil Gaiman and also Terry Pratchett.

I’ve read Good Omens, but thanks for the suggestion just the same. I enjoyed it quite a bit and I’m hoping the movie version of it they’re supposedly working on will turn out OK.

Did your Mom give you the copy of American Gods.  When she posted about it on her site I suggested she passed it on to you seeing as it’s on your wishlist.  It’s one of my favourite books, I also enjoyed Good Omens, but not as much, but when I tried Smoke and Mirrors it couldn’t hold my attention.  Have you read Scepticism Inc. by Bo Fowler?

Just saw your post on Mommas’s Corner.  Anyway seems she got her copy from the local library.  At a recent signing/talk session at our local bookshop the author Jasper Fforde was pretty disparaging about books appearing in electronic formats due to the risk of piracy.  I tried to point out that piracy is not always a bad thing saleswise as the first Harry Potter book being widely pirated on the newton did a lot for it’s popularity and the CD pirating of playstation games extended the life of that console far beyond most of it’s peers, but he was having none of it.  He did take note however when I pointed out that Victorian authors may well have viewed the public libraries as the Napster of their time.

DaveR, nope I haven’t read Scepticism Inc. yet, but I’ll have to check it out. I’m at the tail-end of American Gods at the moment and have started in on Carl Sagan’s The Demon Haunted World and Voodoo Science.
