Flintlocke’s Guide to Azeroth

Frumpa demanded in the comments to another thread that I start making with more talk about Blizzard’s excellent soul stealing game World of WarcrackWarcraft and far be it for me to not comply. As it turns out, though, I just hit level 60 with Balfour, my dwarven hunter, so I’ve not got a whole lot to say other than “Yippee!”

Still, something that’s very Warcrack related is Flintlocke’s Guide to Azeroth by the folks over at Gamespy. It’s a comic strip done using actual screenshots taken from the game and it’s a decently funny romp at that. Of course it’s most funny to folks who have actually played the game, but there’s likely to be enough stuff there to tickle the funny bones of even non-players. Here’s a sample:

Hey grats on hitting your 60th season!  I’m slowly trudging up there with my lvl43 (hitting 44 tonight) Paladin, Liaresa.  What server do you play on by chance again?  Have you started on an alt?

Thank you for pointing this strip out!!!  I just started reading it and chuckled pretty loudly quite a number of times going through the first series of comics!

Congrats on level 60. Have you begun collection your Beaststalker set yet? Hitting level 60 opens up a lot of instance raids where the loot seems to almost always be an upgrade. I’m really looking forward to today’s patch and the honor system implementation. I am also on Durotan but on the Horde side so I’ll be on the lookout for Balfour on the battlefields.

Hey Les, you selected my absolute favorite cartoon from the series!

I don’t play the game (and am unlikely to start) though. Not enough time and some scepticism about the long-term interest the quest system would hold for me. Well, mostly time, or I might try it just the same.
