I disagree, Consi, at least in regards to the majority of news items that are saturating the airwaves today. Those are almost entirely about wallowing.

Beyond that for almost every heartfelt entry like the one you linked to there will be five more that will be little more than wallowing for the people writing them. I suppose if that’s what works for them then so be it, but that doesn’t mean I have to join in on it.

Everyone’s going to handle this in their own way personally and on their weblogs, and that’s as it should be.  But I agree with Les’ assessment of the MSM approach.  It’s almost as if they are obligated to pump high-fructose corn syrup into the airwaves all day.

Well, for something rather different—and perhaps quite disturbing, CBC’s “The Passionate Eye” is showing a documentary tonight called, “The Falling Man.”

Some of you will remember that there was at least one photo taken of a man falling/jumping from the WTC—the photo was demonized and banned and then pulled from the papers and disappeared. The documentary is about the photo, the journalist who took the photo and his discovery of the man’s identity.

One more thing about 9/11 that I came across that I thought interesting—It was a quote in the Toronto Star in an Article by Rosie DiManno—She asks what the world would look like if 9/11 had not happened, and quotes the speculations of a science fiction writer (Robert J. Sawyer):
