Enough with the rain already.

Not to be an alarmist, but I’m beginning to think those global warming people are on the right path. This month has to be one of the warmest and wettest May’s I can ever remember. Normally we don’t have to turn on the AC until early July, but we’ve had it in on for the past two weeks due to the heat. Plus with all the damned storms we can’t leave the windows open even when it is cool enough to turn off the AC. The lightening storms are an almost daily event at this point and I’ve been awakened from a deep sleep by thunder multiple nights now. Last night we had one crack so loud it set off every car alarm in the neighborhood.

Quite a bit of flooding around South Eastern Michigan this morning. Lots of homes and neighborhoods underwater with some folks saying that it’s the worst flooding they’ve seen in 30 years. A few more days of rain like the last couple and we’ll be breaking some records around here.

I guess you most probably know of this but Global Warming does not simply means that the temperature everywhere will increase. In fact one of the predictions if I recall correctly is that temperatures will fall in North America and Europe. This is due to the collapse of the Gulf Stream which has been shrinking for the past 20 years. Of course this is just a theory of what might happen.

But global warming is not just about the rising heat.

Well, if it makes you feel any better it’s been cold and overcast here in the Bay Area. ‘Course, March was hotter then Hades.

This site has a map indicating the world wide consequences of global warming.

It also provides a link to an assessment of climate change.

It’s been a wet May down here in Texas, too; we’ll probably have our traditional Memorial Day flooding this year.

I haven’t had to run the sprinklers yet, so I’m happy as a clam.

Rain is God’s tears and he has lots more reasons to be crying this year. Last year he cried on the Southeast constantly. It’s your turn. I’m guessing heat is his lust for us.

So along those lines, strong wind would be God farts?

Just moved to San Antonio, TX two days ago and it’s hot and muggy.  Missing the California coast dearly.  At least I’ve got GeekMom down here.

Welcome to Tejas, deadscot, and I apologize in advance for all the horrors you’re going to experience down here ... wink

Whenever it drizzles, my dad and his dad always used to say, “The angels are pissing.”

Tejas, an old Indian word meaning “friends”.  They lost the war.

You may find it hard not to judge a man by the color of his neck.  wink
