They finally have a working theatrical trailer for the film adaptation to Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.  It looks great!  I was having such a lousy day, but when I saw the trailer, I was walking on sunshine. grin

One of my favourite books from one of my favourite authors. So much clever surrealism crammed into one, uh, four books, crammed into a trilogy.

I wonder if they will ever do anything with the Dirk Gentley books, that was another very humorous series.

You mean 5 1/2 books? smile

Looks like a good film, hopefully the whole thing will be as good as the trailer makes it seem.

Next to the Guide books...my favorite was Last Chance to See...if anyone hasn’t read it...it’s definitely worth it! smile I can’t wait for this film, the trailer looks good, I just hope it doesn’t disappoint.

Hmmm…

Doesn’t look as good as the TV version.  Looks to much like the last “Around the world in 80 days”.

I’ll wait for the reviews, and see what Ebert has to say on the subject.

Martin Freeman as Arthur Dent? I’m throwing all my initial skepticism towards this movie out the window, what perfect casting.

Hitchhiker is one of my favorite books of all time. I’ve been looking forward to this movie ever since I heard it was going into production--I just hope they don’t disappoint me, which happens to often.

We watched the trailer in the conference room at our office during a staff meeting and our company owners agreed with my suggestion that we have an office field trip to see the movie when it comes out.  I can’t wait!

Zaphod looks a bit hippyish in the trailer.  Am I the only who who envisioned him as a real life Zap Braddigan(from “Futurama")?

Oh that’s the best one yet! Finally a bit of Marvin in action. Sounds like Alan Rickman is going to be great as Marvin.

I love Alan Rickman, and I agree...who better to voice Marvin?  I mean if he can be the voice of god...why not the voice of Marvin????
