The current push to display the motto “In God We Trust” in publicly funded buildings is nothing less than a slap in the face of this country’s founders.
How else can you define another misguided attempt to chip away at an ingenious constitutional amendment that was created by those founders to prohibit the establishment of a state-mandated religion and to protect the wide diversity of religious beliefs held by its citizens?
