A friend of mine sent me this link…

I thought for a fox reporter/interviewer she made a very good showing for herself. I was surprised that she attacked right from the begining, normally in the UK its a gentle easing into conflict, but I suppose I don’t watch too much in the way of american talk shows/news (cept Daily Show, when I manage to catch it) so maybe its a familiar style to some of you.

Found via tristan who found it via Hot Air

Also from the same page, I found out that Phelp’s church has encountered the suing culture of America. Apparently one of the families who were burying their victim of the oil war and harranged by the Phelps family unit, have decided it counts as emotional harm and so are have started a lawsuit against Westboro church. While I do not like phelps and consider him a deluded twisted old fool who does cause harm, the precedent could be worrying. CEOs of various industries complaining that protestors are causing them emotional harm.... extreme but once you overide freedom of speech a little bit....

Anyway thats my 2 sesterces

The Phelps tribe probably think they’re the only ones going to heaven.
I’m sure L4T distances himself from that particular folly of fundies. Well, almost sure. wink

Bear in mind that it it’s P****s who does the protesting. I’m surprised it took so long for somebody to sue him and his cult, though.

What a riot!  “You’re proud of your sins.  You can’t do enough sinning.  You think gay pride, bimbo”.  Doesn’t she mean bimba, though? tongue laugh

I think John has come up with an appropriate group name to complement “a reason of atheists”; namely, “a folly of fundies” rolleyes

The Phelps Sect’s central members are all lawyers, Carry’s Mom (above) is no exception.  They regularly sue people themselves as a strategy, too.

Leaving aside such notions that the Iraq war is an oil war (it’s an ideologically driven war), or the sometimes low-brow nature of FoxNews hosts (i seem to recall a certain Channel 4 host has the same nature at times)… I actually think giving air-time the Phelps Sect’s membership is a *good* thing.

I cannot think of better publicity for gay civil-rights than these folks. They shine a nice harsh light onto where such thinking brings one in terms of emotional health and political stability.

Conceivably, yes. Even their own propaganda can work to their disadvantage given the proper venue.

Phelps is useful as a bad example but people with more substantive objections to gay rights (such as freedom of association) will congratulate themselves for not being like him, and dig themselves in.  Of course, the connection between Phelps’ mentality (and I use that word loosely) and their desire not to associate with gays doesn’t exactly step forward and identify itself.  But it’s there all the same.

Not only has she patterned her speech and ideology after Margaret White’s rendition of the saintly-satanic mom, she has obviously borrowed much from her asesthetic style, too:

Hahah I opened up another tab to look at the comments for this post and didn’t realize that I had two copies of the video playing at the same time. There was so much yelling and repeating of arguments I was like… How can anyone even hear what they are saying? It was only when one finished and I kept hearing audio that I realized it. So I watched it again and the host did a lot less interupting :D

Oh, you mean lack of aesthetic style. I have absolutely no moral qualms about pointing out the fact that, along with being utterly evil, the Phelpses are gargoyles.

WOW!  I wouldn’t protest anyone’s funeral, no matter what they believed, for any reason.  That just shows immaturity and a lack of respect, and if a group/person don’t have either one of those, how will their point ever “be made”?  I know PWT that act better than that.

Although, dabs to the Fox Reporter for the attack.

Busy day, finally got to watch the video.  Getting into a shouting match with someone like that is futile - they’ve had a lot more practice with it.

Give ‘em 30 seconds, cut the mic, look into the camera, and say; “Well there you have it.  Total whacko, hates everything our country stands for.  In other news...”

I want to own Canadians in the name of God. I’m pretty sure I can sell my daughter to buy a Canadian. How much are Canadians going for on the Fundie market for anyways? I need someone to tend my house while I go out and stone people for eating shrimp.

MM: How much are Canadians going for on the Fundie market for anyways?

Lev. 25:44 states that you may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations.
A friend of mine claims this applies to Mexicans, but not to Canadians so ... I’m not sure, mate. He’s a bullshitartiste. I rarely believe a word he says.
Yer’re probably only allowed to own those who think they speak French (but as everyone knows they speak a sort of bastardised French that the French spoke 300 years ago ... similar to the Suid Afrikaanse that the Boers speak which is like the Dutch spoken in Holland over 400 years ago).
Ya gotta be careful, mate.
Personally I think you’re better off buying a Mexican … after all they’re ALL Roaming Carflicks and, therefore, they believe in fairy tales so, you could talk them into anything.

Leave it to a Fox News representative to keep their temper… umm.  Well anyways, in America people have the right to say what they think, so naturally your going to get nut cases like this, especially when the nut case follows the King James Bible.  Man this is where I was going to quote something from the King James Bible, but I didn’t know where to start, there is so much insane crap in there it boggles the mind.

This is just yet another of 1000s of such instances that show not only how stark raving insane these nutbags are (Meaning most any Religious zealot of any flavor) but also how easily and deeply the pure hatred is spread by the Religious Meme.

Hi Zilch

Yep King George is a sore subject with me also, Im just forever hopeful that someone will put us out of our collective miseries someday and shoot that SOB.
Unless things change here (USA) within the next 3 years my wife & I are leaving this country before it gets any worse.
It is quickly becoming a Totalitarian Police State of which I will be no part of and if the ignorant masses dont wake up and start a full blown Revolution to stop it then time for me to go.
In the last 6 years we have had 3 fraudulent elections 2000-02’-04’ and are gearing up for 2 more 06’-08’.
This alone effectively means we do not live in a Democracy.
In 2001 our own Government attacked us in a false flag terrorist attack murdering 3000 American citizens and the Mainstream Media said nothing and covered it up.
The UN-elected self imposed dictator we have pretending to be President has LIED continuously non stop, he and his Cabal of PNAC Neofascist have lied this country into an unjust, illegal war of aggression, have gotten 2500+ soldiers and 100,000+ Iraqi citizens murdered over greed of oil.
They are quickly dismantling the Constitution, what isn’t re-written is simply ignored and the MSM is fully complicit.

Unfortunately since about 75% of the American public have had their minds turned to mush by religious indoctrination they are very easily fooled and dont require “Facts” at all, they are able to take everything on “faith”.
This leaves us all at an incredible disadvantage, the vast majority of our population have no reasoning skills, are incapable of rational & logical thought processes thus there is no getting through to them.
These people treat politics as religion, its them against us, division, intolerance, hatred is the norm.
They see this stark raving lunatic George Dubya Christ as their deity and will defend him at all cost, thus when REAL Patriots speak out and tell the truth they are attacked, even such benign statements & opinions such as the Dixie Chicks made in London 3 years ago they receive Death Threats from these psychopaths.

This situation is liable to blow anytime now, the 9/11 truth movement is snowballing, more & more are finally waking up to the fact of what really happened, another stolen election is on the horizon, most likely another FAKE terrorist attack will have to be employed to knock everything back because they know if they dont then they are going to prison and the Rethuglicans are going to lose this totalitarian power.

So anyway, I honestly dont see the American public as capable anymore of armed revolution, mostly because of Religious indoctrination placating them into this ignorant waste of human flesh.

New Zealand is looking decent, maybe Brazil, anywhere but here.

Very well put nunya.  I still cannot believe that we are expected to believe a 757 flew into the Pentagon, when the hole in the Pentagon on 9/11 was only about 45 feet high.  But the best thing to do is stay here and fight.  I never believe in running away from your problems.  However, I have seen Scotland, and it is absolutely gorgeous.
