The US was founded by Christians. There are more christians in the US than any other religion. Why would they place other symbols on the courthouses and money? It’s not practical. Leftist judges want all mention of god and religion removed completely. They do not represent the majority of the people and they are not supposed to make laws. We have the legilative branch for that. They are only supposed to uphold laws.

Your God and the insistence of Christians that He and their particular beliefs be given a special place above all others is the single most divisive issue in a country that’s meant to stand for “liberty and justice for ALL.� That includes everyone who doesn’t believe as you do, and giving crosses and Big-G God an official okey-doke will never serve as anything but a wedge to divide those who believe in Him from those who do not.

Those who don’t believe have every right but they should really try to be more tolerant and open minded. Don’t you think all people should try to be more tolerant and open minded?

I don’t know of any law congress has passed or tried to pass in this respect. It means the government cannot establish it’s own religion by law. I know of no laws concerning christianity.

Further the first amendment says that congress shall make no law restricting the free excersize of religion. This is where the rogue judges cross the line.

And before you point to all the cases being brought by the ACLU on the behalf of atheists you might want to take a closer look at some of them. A good number of them are actually brought on behalf of other believers and not atheists. The three plaintiffs in Justice Roy Moore’s Ten Commandments monument lawsuit in Alabama, for example, weren’t atheists.

Christians, who happen to be the majority in the US, don’t think it’s right for rogue judges to start making laws that restrict their right to freedom of expression.

The fact that Christians are the majority in no way affords them any special privileges to trample on the rights of the minorities nor to violate the laws laid down in the Constitution. Those “rogue judges” you’re referring to are doing their job of interpreting the Constitutionality of the laws in question and striking down the ones which violate it. Simply because you disagree with their positions in no way makes them “rogue judges.”

They shouldn’t be placing any religious symbols on courthouses and money regardless of practical it is. It’s a violation of the First Amendment.

But, if they’re going to insist on it, then the only way not to violate the First Amendment would be to show equal preference for ALL religious symbols and not limiting it to just what the majority happens to believe in. That isn’t, as you said, practical and as such the government shouldn’t be promoting ANY religion’s symbols and creeds over any others for ANY reason.
