A North Carolina church decided to do unto others by giving away some free gas:
Manna Church in Fayetteville gave away $10,000 in gas—paying $1 a gallon of gas, up to $10 for drivers, no questions asked. The giveaway began at 11 a.m. and ended at 12:40 p.m.
NBC17 reporter Frank Graff said the line of cars, a rough estimate of about 200, wrapped around the gas station out onto the road starting at 10 a.m. Employees of the Kangaroo gas handed out bottles of water to drivers, said Graff.The gas station went through 4,500 gallons of gas.
The church said the idea behind the gas giveaway is to show God’s love and to prove “that God’s love is unconditional, no questions asked.“
That’s cool and all, but unless God personally paid for the gas or, at the very least, was there working the pumps then it’s hard to imagine how this demonstrates God’s unconditional love. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very cool these folks gave away some free gas, but all that really says is that these folks are very generous.
Though if believing that this is what their God wants them to do gets them to do this more often then, by all means, continue to be a believer. If nothing else it keeps them busy and gives folks a little extra gas.

Every time I see something like this, I think of a quote I saw on some now-forgotten thread:
“It’s lucky there are no starving children in the world, or this would be obscene”.
Perhaps a little harsh for some free gas, but so it goes.
