Why was Clinton impeached and not Bush?  Simple: Bush is on top of a mountain of sheer concentrated power right now.  Which calls to mind one of my favorite quotes from a certain well-known Republican president:

And now.....Hey Les. This here sailor is coming home to Michigan for a couple weeks at the end of June and would like to buy you a beer...or a soda pop...or something. Do any of you folks hang out in a regular SEB approved diner or hole in the wall somewhere?

i wouldn’t trust mayo.  i’ve heard some unsavory things about him such that i decided to get a restraining order against him before he tries something on me.

This may come as a surprise to a lot of folks, but I lead a rather boring life. Don’t have any particular bars that I hang out in as I only tend to drink alcohol once every two to three months (if that) and I can’t stand the taste of most beers. I am partial to Long Island Iced Teas, though. I rarely drink to excess because I don’t like being out of control of myself, but I do enjoy the flavor of a good mixed drink so it’s not like I never drink. My brother has a few bars he likes to hang out in, though, so when I’m looking for a small drink I just pay him a visit.

Mayo, I’d be flattered to meet up with you. Where abouts in Michigan will you be visiting?

I was raised in Cadillac, but my family is now a bit further downstate. I have a brother in Sand Lake and a sister in Moline which is a blip south of GR. I think my Mother is currently living with a disabled woman as a rent free assistant turned slave labor prisoner. I need to get her out of there.
I’ll be there from the 29th through the 13th of July. It would be a hoot to meet you in person. Maybe we could take in The Fantastic 4 since you don’t drink much. I don’t drink a great deal either....practically nothing considering I’m a sailor. I like a nice Woodchuck Cider these days as beer has always tasted like Imp urine to me.

KPatrickGlover is right about the impeachment process. I suspect, however, that many are unaware of the difference between impeachment and removal

This article on the Cornell University web site provides an overview of the process. The House has the power to impeach (indict), the Senate tries the case. The Senate Republicans did not have the votes to remove Clinton from office.
