Funny how nervous you can be over something you used to be so confident about after an accident. I’m due to head into work this morning after working from home yesterday to give my body time to recover from the shock. My arms are still a little sore and I’ve got a minor ache in my back, but my leg is feeling fine so I’ll be folding myself into Anne’s Saturn and seeing if I can make it to work in one piece. Wish me luck.
I’m still debating whether to try and contest the ticket. I don’t feel I was solely at fault, but is it a battle worth fighting? This will be the first points I’ve had on my license in years, probably more than a decade since my last ticket of any kind. The law is the law, though, and it says the fault is mine. Hmmm. Good thing I’ve got 20 days to make a decision in.

Maybe I am reading this wrong but you said “The light turned yellow and the oncoming cars all started to brake so I started to make my turn when I realized at the last second that one car wasn’t braking along with the rest of them. I hit my brakes, but the oncoming Chrysler didn’t” and “The police said I was at fault for failing to yield to oncoming traffic”
Now it sounds to me you did yield, but maybe I am not understanding.
So yeah contest it, what’s the worse that can happen? They hold up that it’s your fault and you still have to pay the fine?
I do know that sometimes if you appear, the court has the option to reduce the fine and/or points. Again, its a no lose situation.
