At least that’s what the following news report would have you believe:

It’s amazing to me how many idiots you can find to put on camera and claim they just saw a ghost with even a pathetic bit of “proof.” And the news crew is doing nothing but encouraging the idiots to think like idiots. What could it possibly be? It’s so weird and spooky! It MUST be a ghost!

Fortunately, there’s still a few critical thinkers out there:

All it takes it stopping long enough to consider what you’re looking at before the answer becomes pretty obvious. Oh, but we can get on TV if we jump to stupid conclusions!

I agree with the debunkers: it looks like a silverfish.  But why would a silverfish impersonate a ghost, or an angel?  It must have been possessed by God, to bring us closer to Christ.  Hallelujah!

At least most of the commenters at YouTube were not taken in by it.  Perhaps there are limits to stupidity after all…

That is so obviously a frickin’ bug.  Anyone who says “angels” or “ghosts” (heh, the old Indian Reservation line about killed me) should be forced to eat the bug. 

As to the news crew though, I think they are just being lazy and trying to get some fluff filler, but it is possible they are not just a bunch of lazy idiots but a bunch of credulous idiots.  Either way, I say they are idiots.

I disagree.  The reporter was very cute and doing that report while keeping a straight face must have been quite a trick.

You just made me realize something, going with that logic every show aimed at teenagers are nothing more than cute animals doing tricks, the animal just happens to be a blond bimbo with implants reading!

There was actually some discussion about this on another site that brought up the fact that the image is bright blue, and a Silverfish isn’t actually that color.  However, did anyone else notice that the report was wearing an Amazing Color Shifting Suit?  When talking into the camera, she was wearing a purple/blue suit, when she came inside, it was clearly some form of red...hmmm…

Oh wait, the ghost has gotten ectoplasm on the lens and that changes the color of everything!
