I am a hoopy frood ’cause I always know where my towel is.

Do you know what today is? Today is Towel Day:

Towel Day is an annual celebration on the 25th of May, as a tribute to the late author Douglas Adams (1952-2001). On that day, fans around the universe proudly carry a towel in his honour.

I love Douglas Adams! How can I get involved?

On the 25th of May, carry a towel. Where? Everywhere!

Proudly show the world you’ve observed Towel Day and upload a picture to Flickr, tagging it with “towelday” (most interestinglatestgroup) or make a YouTube video (most relevantlatest). We look forward to seeing yours!

Want to help the cause? Tweet about #towelday, blog, post in forums, share a link in Facebook, link to the site… The more we are, the merrier!

I will have to dig out my copy of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy today and give it a read through. It’s been too long since I last visited with Arthur, Ford, and Zaphod.

Damn, wish I’d known this before. It’s far too late in the evening to go outside with a towel.

Think it would be ok to celebrate with, or atleast the closest I can get with my I have available, a pangalactic gargleblaster instead?

I’m sure Adams would be more than honored by an attempt at a Pan Galactic Gargleblaster quaffed in his memory.

You can find a number of Earth-bound attempts at a PGG recipe at this Wikibooks link.

  • Having just starting to read Hitchhiker for the first time I’m being delighted by Adams humor. The paperback is a compilation of his five novels and contains 815 pages. It is a real waker upper when you are waiting at the hospital and it slams to the floor.

  • Pan Galactic Gargleblaster

Proving, once again, the human animal’s attempt to alter reality through drugs or religion.

    Peace.

    24 hours too late.
