Now for some sports..

I’m not a huge sports fan myself, but I must admit that if the Ultimate Prayer Championships were a real televised sport I’d probably tune in to watch it. Especially if it looked anything like this:

I thought the small comment about “Good thing God is real otherwise all this fighting would be point…” was a nice touch.

  1. Funny, but it makes good points. It was good that the video alluded to the fact that the differences between these groups are barely noticeable. They both share the same doctrines, they divided centuries ago because of misunderstandings due to linguistic differences. But rather than recognize this shared faith and reconcile, they remain divided because the two groups have such a long history of bad blood and because of cultural differences.
When believers are selling religion as being superior to atheism or other ideas or philosophies, they usually comes back to the idea that religion is good for society, that it makes the believer behave and love his neighbor. But when people of different religions actually interact with one another, they generally love nothing better than to bicker and fight over very small differences, and forgiveness is the last thing that they are interested in.

Well, heck…why would people need forgiveness, unless there were actually a chance that they might be wrong?  The only thing that any of these folks know for sure about themselves, and the only thing they care about anyone else knowing, is that they couldn’t possibly be wrong.
