Can you handle some more crazy Republicans?

More fun from the 9/12 rally in Washington, but with a twist this time. About halfway through the interviewer calmly challenges some of the claims he’s hearing. Particularly amazing is the segment where the subject of Obama’s so-called Czars comes up. He points out that the first one, a Drug Czar, was appointed by Ronald Reagan, that the number of Czars was expanded under George W. Bush, and that they don’t have any Executive power at all, but are only advisors. The stunned looks of disbelief on the nutcases’ faces is almost priceless if it weren’t so fucking sad:

These people literally have no fucking clue what they’re talking about. When challenged to provide examples of the things they’re complaining about they fail to come up with anything substantial. If they come up with anything at all it’s a total fantasy that has no basis in reality. This is what FOX News has wrought. Getting thousands of people to show up and protest against their own self-interests.

    Morans…

  • On Saturday, I saw a clip of one of these Tea Party guys on CNN.  When asked what he wanted, he said he wanted to go back to the way things were 100 years ago.  Okay… you mean back when women couldn’t vote, African-Americans were disenfranchised, there was no Social Security, no labor laws, no environmental laws.

Davmab, you seem to be under the mistaken impression that I’m PZ Myers. You’re on the wrong blog. Doesn’t speak well of your ability to pay attention.

Tommykey, I believe that’s exactly what some of them do want.

Its interesting to see them get completely pwnt(I’m a gamer, sorry).

I’m glad someone stood up for what’s really out there.

  • God damnthose people are ignorant. I loved the women trying to play smart: “Czar comes from Caesar!” I’m so impressed that you remembered that factoid from underneath a Frutopia cap in 1996!

    What can I say?  Yup.

Gee…I sure wish I was there to sign the cross! LOL

How many of those people got there by bus that was more than likely paid for either directly or indirectly by health insurance companies?

These people are going to lead straight to slavery, and the whole while screaming about how free they are.

But I gotta ask, what should we expect from people that still believe in their imaginary friend in the sky? Start with that and you end up with the belief that Glenn Beck should be president!

  • Oh, I’d love to see Glenn Beck make a serious run for president.  As a Republican.  But what are the odds they won’t run someone crazy?

  • Makes me want to cry, then slap em upside the head. smile

  • Oh, my word verification was….11 below, ohhh don’t you just look forward to the Michigan winters! Umm..not really.

  • I sit here and find myself shouting at the videos!  A useless pastime but I can’t believe that so many can be so misinformed and yet be so adamant about what they believe is true.  There isn’t enough time for others to refute their statements.  They can’t back up their mouths or signs when questioned as to what they mean. But they continue to gather like the mobs in a Western movie and shout louder! If indeed this country is going to fall it will be the uninformed that cause it.

    True Believers™….

  • “I didn’t know this was going on” because he ALWAYS carrys a 8 foot cross with him…

Now do you understand why the rest of the world regards you with a mixture of fear, loathing and mirth.  We can’t help get the impression you are all like this! Might be a good idea to stop putting these loons on TV to try and repair that image.

I love his interview style. His amicable approach seems to put people at ease enough to blather.

Speaking of, does anyone have advice on how to clean vomit off of a keyboard?  grin

  • And Glen Beck is proud of these followers? I would be ashamed. It’s one thing to have huddled masses, but these people are crazy stupid.

Bill Bennett must have to quietly walk out of a lot of rooms when the discussion of czars comes up among his fellow Republicans.
Do you get the sense that these people voted for Dubya? I do. Do you get the sense that they would be this upset if someone in 2004 had told them that Dubya had czars? I don’t. They would likely shrug and move on.
Someone does need to explain to them that Obama won by eight million votes running on universal health care, particularly the last woman who said “they aren’t listening.” If Obama wants to ignore the will of the majority of Americans he will have to sign up with the Glenn Beck crew. And if they are worried about deficits, well, I will have to reference back to Bush.
I wonder how many of them even know that Beck is a Mormon? I get the sense that we would be seeing more stunned faces if they found out.
