I’m a huge fan of the 1967-68 British TV series The Prisoner starring and co-created by Patrick McGoohan. It is weirdly subversive with an ending that will turn your brain inside out. I watched it in full on the Sci-Fi channel years back when the channel was worth watching.

Yes, you read that right. They were running a vicious canary fighting gambling ring:

Police said canaries and saffron finches were seized and 19 people were arrested at a Ripton Road address.

“There was 100 canaries fighting, and they were betting on them ‘til they were dead. It’s absolutely shocking,” said neighbor Marion Sega.
